The country side is formed by uplands. Zvicina hill (671 m) is a dominating feature and gave a name for this whole area. The top of Zvicina is popular for its attractive views (especially the panorama of the Giant Mountains).The southern part is formed by Jicinska uplands. The subsoil is compounded of sandstone which is a popular article for a sculpture in this area. Velichovky and Lazne Belohrad are towns famous for a bog spa.
The area belongs to the drainage area of the Elbe river. The Elbe flows through the north-east part of Podzvicinsko around Kuks and Dvur Kralove. There is an architecturally interesting dam near Bila Tremesna town. The rest of Podzvicinsko is drained away by Javorka and Bystrice rivers. There are a lot of ponds with the most famous Vrestovsky pond. The original wildwoods were cut down in the middle-ages and substituted with pine-woods.
The area of Podzvicinsko is great for a hiking and cycling lowers who can find a harmony country side with a lot of marked paths. This area is still a very peaceful and calm comparing to adjoining areas as the Czech Paradise and the Giant Mountains. The agricultural tourism is still in development. The famous destinations are the New America close to Velichovky bad and Jenikov close to Horice.
During the summer season there are a lot of opportunities for swimming in natural pools. The most favorite pools are in Pecka, Dachovy and Velky Vrestov. There is also new opened swimming pool in Horice.
In the area of Podzvicinsko you can find of lot of culture and sport activities. You can try local sweets called the Horicke trubicky and the Miletinske modlitbicky.
